Special Edition Shoe // Scott Jurek for Brooks Running

2189 miles. 46 days. 1 World Record.

Cascadia 2189

On May 27 at 5:56 am, Scott set off on a personal journey to complete one of the most iconic National Scenic Trails, the Appalachian Trail. One of the most beloved trails in the United States, the AT weaves through 14 states from Georgia to Maine with over 515,000 feet of ascent. While it is recommended that one devote five to seven months for a thru-hike attempt, Scott set out to compete the trail in only forty-six days.

Accompanied by Jenny, his wife, he became the fastest person to finish a supported thru-hike of the AT after averaging 50 miles a day. Along the way, he shared many miles with inspiring hikers and runners, overcame injuries, and discovered a new level of possibility in the pursuit of his lifelong dream.

Scott worked closely with Brooks footwear developers to provide invaluable insight for their trail shoes to make sure runners of every level can get out on the trail. To add even more of Scott to the design, each pair contains a small piece of the same Cascadias Scott used during his epic feat.
